One man’s trash is another man’s treasure
~ English Proverb
April 7, 2012 at Glass Beach, Fort Bragg, Ca. There are three Glass Beach sites in Fort Bragg where trash was dumped into the ocean between 1906 and 1967. Site Two (1943–1949) and Three (1949–1967 – “Glass Beach”).
Looking at the picture you can see all the glass on the beach reflecting the last bits of the sun as it sets. This wire spring appears to be used for batteries in electronics. I really thought this picture had a lot to say. The beauty of what was considered trash now is state-owned and people come from all over to see the glass and take it back home with them. Even this wire spring would be overlooked if it were any other place, but here it creates mystery and communicates a message about trash and treasure!
what things do you find beautiful and others think of it as trash?
What trash do you see that might actually be a treasure with a perspective change?
