This was the best irish breakfast I have ever had. It was real homemade sausage (bangers) black and white puddings a potatoe patty. It was just plain good.

Crepes and Grapes Cafe

Crepes &Grapes Cafe is a really cool restaurant in Uptown Whitter. The ambiance is relaxed, it has a cool French cafe style to it. I can see something like this thrive in the Tower District in Fresno. I order a Vegetarian Curry Crepe. It had eggplant, sautéed mushrooms, red and green peppers and onions and tomatoes in a curry sauce. Served with potatoes and veggies and soup or salad your choice of choice, I choose the French onion soup. The curry was just right not to over barring and not so light that you could not taste it. The veggies were perfectly crunchy and seasoned right. The only thing that could be improved was there service, They were slow a little for my liking and not realy talkative. Crepes &Grapes Cafe is by far my favorite in Whittier, Ca. If you are around Whittier,Ca go check it.

Gem of Thailand ... A review

Saturday evening I went to my favorite Thai food restaurant, Gem of Thailand, located on Blackstone and Herndon in the Denny's strip mall . Gem of Thailand was once called Toom Thai Cuisine before it changed ownership a few years ago. Gem of Thailand is a small very clean little restaurant tucked back behind Colorado Grill and Denny's. The People that work there are fabulous and they are fast and very polite. My water glass never went dry, a very good sign of great service especially with spicey food. I always forget the little lady's name that works there but she always remembers my name and is always glad to see me there, maybe because I always bring someone new to experience this little gem.

I ordered Panang Salmon, Veggie siew and Pad Kra Pao. It was the perfect combo. The veggie siew had an earthy layered taste to it with big fat flat noddles that tasted like they were cooked with bread crumbs. The Pad Kra Pao is my staple when I go here. I get the ground beef version. It is probably one of the spiciest plates they have, but don't let that scare you. It is ground beef with finely chopped chillies and medium chucks of garlic in a light brown sauce with Thai basil leaves. Rounding out the taste the Panang Salmon was a magnificent choice. Salmon has a very loud taste by itself but bathed and soaked in the Panang curry it softens the salmon into a elegant seafood masterpiece. The coconut milk in the Panang curry makes for a soothing taste in the mix of all three of these dishes.
